Educational Goals

The courses in this department are focused on accounting principles, theories and practice. To respond to the trend that traditional accounting practice is gradually replaced by the computer system and the Internet outsourcing, students are trained to be familiar with using computer hardware and software, the Internet, ERP, data mining and other latest applications of information technologies on accounting. All professional courses are instructed by professional teachers with accounting certifications or abundant industrial experiences. The Information courses are mainly given in the computer classrooms. To enhance students’ employment compatibility, both the accounting and information courses encourage students to obtain associated professional certifications. In order to increase learning effects, financial accounting is divided into two groups: “accountant proficiency” and “firm accounting” which are instructed separately. “Accountant proficiency” is instructed by English teaching materials with a purpose to increase learning width, while “firm accounting” is instructed by Chinese materials to increase the depth of actual practice. It is to be hoped that such a lecturing method can help to enhance students’ compatibility and competence in the future careers.
